About the Role:
We are looking for a highly accomplished and strategic Director - Finance to be a key leader within our finance department. Reporting directly to VP- Finance, you will play a critical role in overseeing our financial operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate is a seasoned professional with deep expertise in financial reporting, a strong grasp of accounting standards, extensive experience in managing audits, and a comprehensive understanding of tax and regulatory compliance. Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Financial Strategy & Leadership:
- Act as a strategic partner to the VP - Finance in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Lead the implementation of financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
- Provide timely and insightful financial analysis to senior management to aid in key business decisions.
2. Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation of all financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Indian GAAP.
- Ensure the integrity of financial data across all systems and processes.
- Lead the development and maintenance of robust internal controls and accounting policies.
3. Audit & Risk Management:
- Lead and manage all statutory and internal audits from start to finish, serving as the primary liaison for external auditors.
- Proactively identify and mitigate financial risks, implementing controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance.
- Prepare detailed audit schedules and documentation, ensuring a smooth and efficient audit process.
4. Taxation & Regulatory Management:
- Lead all aspects of tax planning and compliance, including direct and indirect taxes.
- Stay abreast of changes in tax laws and other regulatory frameworks, advising senior management on their impact.
- Ensure all statutory filings and returns are completed accurately and on time.
5. Team Leadership & Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of finance and accounting professionals.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional growth within the team.
- Manage team performance, conduct reviews, and allocate resources effectively to meet departmental goals.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Professional Certification: Must be a Chartered Accountant (CA)
- Experience: A minimum of 10-12 years of progressive experience in corporate finance, with at least 5-7 years in a senior managerial or leadership role.
- Technical Expertise:
- Exceptional knowledge of accounting standards
- Proven experience in successfully managing complex statutory and internal audits.
- In-depth understanding of tax laws and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with ERP systems - Netsuite and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Leadership & Communication:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with a track record of developing talent.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Superb communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to a variety of audiences, including the board and external stakeholders.
